The weather is starting to cool down, which means the greens are going to get faster! Bermuda grass doesn’t grow well in colder conditions, meaning the greens at Kingsway are going to start speeding up and those downhill putts are going to be slick. Here is a tip to help ease the ball down the hill on those slippery putts.
When lining up your downhill (hopefully for birdie!) putt, align the ball on the toe of the putter. Contact on the toe of the putter is usually a little softer than solid center contact, meaning the ball will take off with less speed to help control your distance and nestle the ball closer to the hole. Give this a try this weekend when those greens are flying! Good luck and play well!
